About Us

In 1995, after studying taiji and qigong for five years, Jennifer S. Hensley began teaching  the internal Chinese martial in Waynesboro, Staunton and Harrisonburg,  VA.  Over time, Trayfoot Taiji became Trayfoot Taiji & Qigong, then Trayfoot  Mountain Studio  and now just Trayfoot Mountain. As new studies were completed, Hensley became known first as a teacher and then a Sifu (dubbed Sifu Jen-Jen by students). She added Personal Fung Shui, then created her own unique style of energy healing called Trayfoot Qi Balancing (a combination of qigong, Chinese Five Element energy medicine, and Touch for Health).  Along the way, she became a Certified Herbalist and Natural Health Consultant and natural health writer/author/columnist ("Wholistically Speaking") and a speaker and workshop presenter teaching 200 plus workshops annually.  Always interested in energy and paranormal energy,  in 1998 after accidently taking a paranormal photo, she began studying the paranormal in depth and is now Case Manager and Workshop Coordinator for Shenandoah Valley Paranormal Society.  She has also served on several boards including as a director on the Blue Ridge Community College Complimentary Medicine Board and currently on Board of Director's of the Virginia Outdoor Writers Association.

With the advent of the Trayfoot Mountain website, Hensley is combining all of her talents and offerings in an educational format that will benefit anyone interested in taiji, qigong, natural health, herbs and other supplements including Celtic Sea Salt and Nature's Sunshine Products. Still offering twice weekly ongoing taiji and qigong classes in Verona, Va. and private classes at Trayfoot Mountain Studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Waynesboro, VA, Hensley is also completing  a book called Herbal Simpling: A Quick Reference Guide to Herbs for 650+ Diseases and Symptoms. She also offers a taiji & qigong  workbook and DVD set with more books in the near future.

From the founder of Trayfoot Mountain: My philosophy is to help you sustain an independent lifestyle, to help you take responsibility for your health and well being by learning how to put the puzzles to your health and life together  to best suit and support you. Education is the key to taking these responsibilities and my vision is to help anyone who desires to do so accomplish these goals. My goal is not to create a dependence upon me for your well being; this would just be another way of taking control of your health away from you, but instead, I want you to feel the power of controlling your own health destiny by creating a healthful lifestyle that suits and compliments your life.
